Professor Dr. Shrijana Shrestha, Professor of Paediatrics at the academy and a lead researcher at Paediatric Research Unit, has been appointed as the Rector at Patan Academy of Health Sciences (PAHS) as per the decision made by the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) Dr. Sudha Gautam at the capacity of the pro-chancellor of the academy as per the ministry level decision made on 14th Poush 2082 (29-Dec-2025) for a period of four (4) years tenure. She officially assumed the position at the academy from 17th Poush 2082 (01-Jan-2026). The rector is responsible for leading the academic initiatives of the institute and is overseeing the School of Medicine, School of Public Health, and School of Nursing & Midwifery. Prof. Shrestha has served also as Dean of School of Medicine at the academy for two successive tenures (2014-2017; 2018-2021).
