Basic Life Support (BLS) is critical, immediate care for life-threatening emergencies, such as cardiac arrest or choking, crucial for keeping patients alive until professional help arrives. To transform PAHS into a premier “Heart-Safe” institution, nursing department aim to move fostering a unified hospital environment where life-saving capability is a shared responsibility and institutional excellence.
The BLS nursing program’s journey began on 5thShrawan 2082 with an intensive Training of Trainers (TOT) for 24 nurses. 12 Nursing educators were selected to lead this training who demonstrated exceptional skill and dedication. After 6th batch of collaborative training with medical team, the nursing team achieved full independence by the 7th batch. Today, the nursing team has successfully trained 792 staff members of PAHS, including School of Nursing faculty, Radiology, Laboratory, Pharmacy, Physiotherapy, Dietetics, OPD staff, Administrative, Housekeeping, Security, Kitchen and Maintenance. The program is still continued and many more to go.
