Millennium Fellowship at PAHS

Millennium Fellowship was started at Patan Academy of Health Sciences in 2023. The first Millennium Fellowship cohort (2023) gathered 11 medical students at PAHS under Campus Directors, Shitanshu Dhakal and Manikant Thakur. Their collective work focused on social impact initiatives aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals, with their project centered on enhancing youth mental and reproductive wellbeing. Through workshops, discussions, and community-oriented advocacy, they worked to design and plan a project to improve awareness, reduce stigma, and promote holistic wellbeing among young people.

Continuing the growing legacy of the Millennium Fellowship at PAHS, the Class of 2024 brought together a committed cohort of 18 medical students under the leadership of Campus Directors Ritika Shrivastab and Tapendra Dhakal. They launched “Yathartha: Health Edition”, a student-led initiative dedicated to addressing health myths and promoting evidence-based awareness. Through the online platform Yathartha.np, the cohort worked to replace hearsay with science, empowering communities with reliable health information and informed decision-making.

The 2025 Millennium Fellowship cohort at Patan Academy of Health Sciences was led by Campus Directors Manju K.C. and Prabudhha Bajracharya. The fellows implemented AdolEssence: The Real Talk, a community-focused project addressing adolescent health through three core themes: menstrual hygiene, substance abuse, and screen addiction. The initiative aimed to promote informed health behaviours, encourage preventive practices, and generate sustainable positive impact through workshops, school health programs, and interviews with relevant stakeholders.
